1.Help Department of Livestock Services to Develop policies, strategies and program for the control and eventual eradication of FMD and TADs'.

2. Act as a National Refrence Laboratory for FMD, Classical Swine Fever, Blue Tongue and other TADs.

3. Acquire, adopt, upgrade and establish different laboratory diagnosis methods for FMD & TADs.

4. Conduct the laboratory diagnosis of FMD & TADs and find out the causative serotype and differentials FMD virus.

5. Conduct sero-survillance of FMD, Blue Tongue & Classical Swine Fever.

6. Create awareness to the public and farmers about FMD & TADs.

7. Perform sero-monitoring of FMD and Classical Swine Fever vaccination.
